The Linlithgow Union Canal Society was created to promote and encourage the restoration and use of the Union Canal, particularly in and around Linlithgow. It is a voluntary body based at the Canal Centre, and unpaid volunteers are responsible for a variety of activities for all the family including fun days and cardboard boat races, to name but a few.

Within their website there is an easy-to-follow map to guide you round three walking trails around the town, with information on the main places of architectural and historical interest in Linlithgow, starting at The Cross in the very centre of the town.

Falkirk Wheel
The Falkirk Wheel is a rotating boat lift in Scotland, connecting the Forth and Clyde Canal with the Union Canal. A short train ride to Falkirk High will get you there in ½ hour or if you are feeling energetic a walk along the canal from Linlithgow will get you there in ???.
